"World Pharmacy Day 2024: NMCAL Celebrates Pharmacists' Role in Meeting Global Health Needs

The program aimed to inspire, inform, and engage everyone in the evolving field of pharmacy.

Starting at 11:30 AM, the event was hosted by NMCAL students Newnic Shrestha and Aanchal Adhikari. It began with the distribution of Khadas to guests, followed by a heartfelt rendition of the national anthem, where everyone stood proudly. Dr. Madhav Prasad Baral, the campus chief, led a deep prajawalan ceremony.

Next, Dr. Sabyata Gautam, the head of the department, delivered a welcoming speech, followed by a delightful dance performed by B.Pharmacy 3rd-year students Tirsana and Simran.

Although chief guest Gagan Kumar Thapa, former Health Minister, could not attend in person, he sent an inspiring video message encouraging pharmacy students to engage in innovative research and make a difference in healthcare.

Following the video, NPC Registrar Mr. Sanjib Kumar Pandey and Gajendra Man Shrestha, Executive Chairman of Norvic Pharmacy P.Ltd, shared their insights. A beautiful solo dance by Diksha Das captivated the audience.

Dr. Raj Kumar Thapa, Chief Pharmacist at Patan Academy of Health Sciences, spoke about the various roles of pharmacists and the significant opportunities in the field. His speech concluded at 12:30 PM, after which Aanchal Adhikari, a B.Pharmacy 1st-year student, recited a lovely poem titled "Jiwan Yasto Banos," meaning "Life Should Be Like That."

Barsha Shakya, a former NMCAL student and current regulatory officer, shared her journey and emphasized the importance of a service-oriented approach in pharmacy. Lecturer Anis Rai discussed how knowledge, skills, and attitudes are vital for success.

Mr. Gajendra Bahadur Bhuju, former Director General of the Department of Drug Administration, spoke about the significance of World Pharmacy Day and its theme, "Pharmacists: Meeting Global Health Needs."

Dr. Madhav Prasad Baral and Assistant Campus Chief Nava Raj Heka presented Professor Mohan Amatya with a token of appreciation as part of his farewell celebration. Anjani Kumar Shah, president of the Pharmacy Student Club, gifted him a canvas portrait.

Professor Amatya expressed his gratitude, highlighting the sensitive nature of the pharmacy profession and the vital role pharmacists play in healthcare.

Tokens of love were distributed to all guests, followed by motivating words and a vote of thanks from Campus Chief  Dr. Madhav Pd. Baral, who encouraged students to work hard and strive for success, making both NMCAL and the nation proud.

The program continued with a lively group dance, eliciting cheers and applause from the audience. After a delicious lunch and a photo session, students felt energized and enriched by the day's lessons.

Finally, a panel discussion, hosted by the talented Ishtyaque Mikrani, encouraged knowledge sharing, diverse viewpoints, and audience participation, creating an engaging and informative experience for all.

The event concluded on a high note, leaving everyone inspired.
