The program aimed to inspire, inform, and engage everyone in the evolving field of pharmacy.
Starting at 11:30 AM, the event was hosted by NMCAL students Newnic Shrestha and Aanchal Adhikari. It began with the distribution of Khadas to guests, followed by a heartfelt rendition of the national anthem, where everyone stood proudly. Dr. Madhav Prasad Baral, the campus chief, led a deep prajawalan ceremony.
Next, Dr. Sabyata Gautam, the head of the department, delivered a welcoming speech, followed by a delightful dance performed by B.Pharmacy 3rd-year students Tirsana and Simran.
Although chief guest Gagan Kumar Thapa, former Health Minister, could not attend in person, he sent an inspiring video message encouraging pharmacy students to engage in innovative research and make a difference in healthcare.

On the beautiful Friday morning of Shrawan 18, 2081, the National College of Food Science and Technology hosted a memorable Welcome and Farewell Program at the elegant Lord Palace in Tokha. The event, which began precisely at 9:45 AM, was a day filled with joy, celebration, and poignant farewells.
The program kicked off with the traditional Aashan Grahan ceremony, where khadas were presented, and guests were introduced to the new and outgoing batches. The national anthem followed, with everyone standing in solemn pride as its powerful notes filled the room. This was succeeded by the deep prajjwolan ceremony, symbolizing the light of knowledge and unity.
Raynuca Karki, a talented second-year B.Tech Food student, delivered a heartfelt welcome speech. The mood was further uplifted by a dynamic welcome dance performed by nine second-year students, setting a vibrant tone for the day's events.

Internal Auditor Training on ISO 22000:2018 (Food Safety Management System)
From July 21st to 25th, 2024, the National College of Food Science & Technolgy (NCFST), NIST conducted an extensive six-day training program tailored for fourth-year B.Tech. (Food) students. This specialized training, titled "Internal Auditor Training on ISO 22000:2018 (Food Safety Management System)," was carried out in collaboration with Globus Certification Nepal Pvt. Ltd., featuring expert trainers Girish Pokharel and Abhishek Pokharel. The program aimed to provide in-depth knowledge and practical skills related to ISO 22000:2018, a critical standard for ensuring food safety across the entire supply chain.
ISO 22000:2018 is an internationally recognized standard that specifies the requirements for a food safety management system. This standard is designed to ensure that food products are safe for consumption from the point of production to the consumer. It integrates several important elements to manage food safety risks effectively. Firstly, it incorporates principles from the Codex Alimentarius Commission, an international body that provides guidelines to ensure food safety. Additionally, the standard integrates the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) system, which identifies and addresses potential hazards that could affect food safety. It also includes prerequisite programs (PRPs) that lay the foundation for effective food safety management by establishing basic hygiene and operational practices.

On the vibrant morning of July 25, 2024, National College hosted the highly anticipated UGC Entrepreneurship Support Program in its Seminar Hall. Supported by the University Grants Commission and masterfully orchestrated by Dr. Gorakh Raj Giri, the event was a showcase of burgeoning entrepreneurial talent and visionary ideas.
The day commenced promptly at 8:00 AM with Dr. Gorakh Raj Giri opening the proceedings. His warm welcome set a positive tone for the day, which was further enriched by the inspiring words of Dr. Madhav Pd. Baral, Founder and Chairperson of National College. Dr. Baral delivered a compelling keynote address, urging attendees to focus on initiatives that will make a lasting impact within Nepal rather than seeking opportunities abroad. He highlighted sectors with immense potential in Nepal, such as animal husbandry, agriculture, poultry farming, and fish farming. Drawing from his own experiences, Dr. Baral spoke about the dedication and perseverance required to succeed, emphasizing that his role as founder and campus chief was the result of relentless hard work and commitment.
